I have made a similar repair to a crack in the same place on one of the "H" wheels on my F14. We drilled a stress relief hole at the end of the crack, vee'd it out good with a grinder, and had it welded by a professional welder using Chronatron rods specifically formulated for cast iron repair. It has held very nicely for 4 years. The tractor doesn't get much use, and what it does get is pretty light duty, but I'd think it would certainly be worth a shot. If the crack reoccurs, you can always get a new wheel.
