If the front feet are are showing and she is straining then is the time to check if after several minutes the head is not coming After the calf is born the old gal will get up ad lick the baby dry. Her licking will stimulate the calf and it will get up and fall down several times till it gets a hold of a teat and get some food. Best if she is in a well bedded pen.
