It would probably pay you to buy, or at least know that you have access to a set of calving chains and hooks in case you do have trouble. Beyond that we never call a vet for a calving anymore. The way I see it, if I can't pull it out at the right time, waiting 2 hours for the vet isn't going to help and it's going to need to be some cow to justify a c-section anymore....
You have no A.I service there at all? Around here the breeders CooP provides the service as well as selling the semen. That' getting to be a more difficult service to maintain too.
