Located in VA. A lot of people around here grow winter barley or wheat by itself for grain or spring forage or for nurse crops for new haystands, or to interseed into thinning haystands to increase first cutting yields. Works pretty well, definitely bumps up yields. Usually get it baled during the first of May just as it heads out. We wrap all of ours and it makes really good feed for beef cows.
