JN, I agree with Ernie in part. When an engine has oil in the coolant system for any reason, mechanical failure or over use in overhaul, it collects in the highest cavities of the water system and takes many heat changes and disturbances to drive it into the terminal point at the top of the radiator. Park your tractor with the cap end elevated and float/suck the oil off the water after it has settled over night with something like a battery watering syringe. The harder & hotter you run it will clean it up quickest. A black oil scum in the radiator indicates residual oil, rainbow sheen indicates a new leak if you're changing oil regularily. I don't know your model tractor but if you don't have an oil cooler installed it is probably residual from the overhaul. One last word, use DISTILLED water for all refills and make up...Joe
