Well, there's a couple of questions that need to be answered, but I'll make some assumptions. If you have relatively flat terrain, it's basically cleared, and you just want to keep it cut and are not planning to make a lawn out of it, a rotary mower (also known as a brush hog or a shredder) would be the way to go. How big a tractor you need depends on how big a mower you want to run, and how fast you want to mow the area. A pretty decent happy medium would be a 30 or 35 horse tractor and a 6' mower. This is a pretty common combination, and you should be able to find a deal on a used setup. If this is not your scenario, post some details and we can suggest other options.
