We use it all the time for International calls. Skype to skype is free even for video calls. Landlines in Europe are about 2cents a min. calls to cellphones about 20cents a min. My daughter spent the fall semester in France. We used it almost daily. With a good internet connection quality is great. Calls can be fustrating with less than an excellent internet connection. Go to skype.com. Download the software and test your connection.
