There was a story on the news last night, that Toyota hired an independent research firm to check the fly by wire electronics on the car.
Said they could find no flaw in the software or hardware except for the CTS gas pedal unit. It seems that the cars equipped with the Denso brand pedal assys are not having any problems.
It appears that Toyota must have allowed CTS to use their own design, as the Denso unit is a very different design. If the design was Toyota's, I would think both would be the same design ? I think the US suppliers need to get a handle on their quality control, bad Pedal assys from CTS in Illinois, cracked new drive shafts on pickups From Dana holding corp, both US made.
Their does not seem to be much if any info out yet as to what the steering problem is.
