Few years back when I was working 2nd shift and going home after midnight I got stopped about once a month for various silly reasons- like going under the speed limit. My response after 3rd stop was: "maybe you were hunting drunk drivers as ordered by superiors?". This got me about half the time a "that might be part of reason, let"s just check license before I let you go", quick verification and "go home to sleep". Other half the time was a get out of vehicle and walk around once, then released. Worst was a Madison city cop soliciting a bribe or something that tried a arrest, got mixed up in processing witnessed by 3 Dane county deputies and I went to court with written motion to dismiss based on misconduct in office by filing false report- to be verified by officers superior handling internal complaint or the sherrifs office whose deputies would be subpeonad to testify-- and would then have to arrest officer. Charges dismissed. City cops tend to lie in my experience and opinion-- the deputies seem a lot more honest. RN

Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects.
