The oil really doesn't make any difference unless
it's to thin and burning past the rings. More
than likely it's due for an expensive overhaul.
Most of those old fords had gas in the crankcase
that thinned the oil anyhow.Smoking when cold
is a sign of bad valve guides,smoking when hot,
rev the motor up and then back to idle,this means
rings need attention.
