Some remarks were made about welfare folks and campers, boats etc.
In our area the folks making min wage, can't get 40 hrs, and no benifits. Seldom do they have medical insuranc, for the simple reason they can not afford it.
They have few pleasures, if any. Often they are behind in medical bills, heating bills are high because they live in older houses.
I hear the welfare thing mentioned alot on this web site, but in our area our biggest welfare list can be found (EWG farm subcities). Seldom called welfare, often called the (better farmers) are at the top of the list.
I could live a decent life with the amount of money the big guys spend on vacations, and the sweet toys they have.
Lets just face it, we grew up in good times, and we do not admit it. Most of the winners from our days got a break in life they do not point out to everyone. We often refer to it as hard work, two jobs, never spent a dime. We have all heard it, and probably said it before, some it's a fact --others probably only in our minds.
I'm very poor by most standards, but I sure as heck would not want to start over with these young kids graduating now days. The hardest working kids I ever hired were from poor families, the rich kids seemed to get the better jobs--less hard work--better paying.
Education payed off pretty good years ago, but alot of the educated kids are now flipping imitation beef at a fast food joint.
