I had an 01 with a 7.3 and a 6speed. I traded it in for an 04 with a 6.0 and again with a 6speed. I wish I had my 7.3 back. It pulled a lot better,and got better fuel mileage. my filters were not nearly as expensive and with the 6.0 you either get one that is good or in the shop all the time. The early 6.0 has a lot of trouble with egr valves that warranty will not cover and its a 700 dollar expense you eat. They are also notorious for having headgasket problems and intake troubles. Ive been lucky and just had the egr problem with mine.If I had it to do all over Id kept my 7.3. Just my experiences with a 6.0
