I have used PVC pipe before on a leg brake. Estimate the diameter of the leg. Cut some thin walled PVC the length you think will support the broken leg area. Split it the long way into two pieces and put in place using duct tape. One a side note, do you use OB chains passed the first joint and then also throw on a half hitch as well?
