i recently retired from power company in midwest we use coal for fuel mainly natoral gas when demand is down used to use fuel oil but too costly and hard to get. Calf and western states all use gas or fuel oil which adds to problem later in cycle I know you will say coal is dirty but after it is burnt and goe thro precipator the emmision is 99.9 per cent pure .Also a lot of power companys are putting in gas turbines a ten year throw away and again burn natural gas which can be in short supply
