how do you like the 489? we have a 479 and are looking to update with a 488 as it has a gearbox design similar to the 479... prob. is you never see 488 for sale or @ auction...adn they are even still under production...barry meyers had lots of trouble with the gearbox on the 489...
i am torn on teh auctions...i just found the listing for the one on stoner's trail rd. and there are three riding lawnmowers and some misc. stuff...and, since this doens't seem to be the most well advertised auction and the crowd won 't necessarily be interested in riding mowers...maybe that would be the route to go...b/c @ macfaddens i'll be looking at tons of competition... but then again, can't beat 100+ lawnmowers...esp. since i don't want anything pretty...just functional...its getting painted hot pink anyway. who knows.
