There's an old Ford truck with two flathead V-8s on it running thru a couple of truck rear axles to power a flat belt pulley. It has been shown at a lot of shows around Michigan, Ohio, & Indiana. A guy built it back in the 30's to run his threshing machine and I think it's still owned by his family. I've heard it running on a Baker fan and those two old flatheads sound so SWEET!! The kind of oddball firing order of the flatheads and Y-block Ford V-8's give them their own sound. Nothing like it.

While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery. I have picked up and attempted to read every auto and farm electrics book with no improvement in the situation. They all seem to start with a chapter entitled "Theory of Electricity". After a few paragraphs I usually close the book and go back to banging out dents.
