After trying a commercial radiator flush, with mixed results, I tried using dishwasher detergent. Used a measureful in a radiator load, ran it for a couple hours, dranied, refilled and did the same again. After several runs, I flushed a couple more times using half a cup of baking soda. Got lots of rust and scale out.
