Seems like a tax-payer suppored "make work" program to me.
Some girl pulled into my driveway last week and was just sitting there in her huge SUV with the engine running. This is unusual since I'm in a rural area in on top of a mountain and have no neighbors in sight (central New York).
I finally walked out and asked her what's going on? Ends up she is a temp. census worker and came to my house to hand-deliver to me a notice that . . . the government will be sending me census forms in the mail.
We cannot get mail delivery here and it goes to a PO Box a few miles away. So, our tax dollars paid this girl to drive to my house - just to inform me I'm gettting forms in the mail at the Post Office.
What a waste of money! Nice looking girl though. If she was my daughter, I wouldn't want her driving to strange remote areas and talking to seedy looking guys like me. Not alone, anyway.
