I have run them on the last 2 planters. I have them on the Kinze now but not on the 15" pusher bean units, only on the corn units.
They make both styles, one zip ties to the seed tube, the other I have used you have to pull off the openers and they mount on the same shaft.
I would recommend the ones that mount to the opener shaft, the others are flimsy and are a real pain when you have to pull the seed tube. They are a little more work upfront, but gives a good chance to look the planter over. Also much quicker in the field to mess with a seed tube without the firmer mounted.
I love the firmers, will put them on the next planter on the corn units. I am not sure it is worth it for beans. I can't see any difference in the beans from the ones with firmers to the ones without.
For closing the seed trench better, for not much more money I would take off one of the standard closing wheels and put on ONE spiked closing wheel. That works good. Don't go with the double spike setup and a drag chain, big PIA
