I've been fighting the anual invasion for about three years and believe I've won. Boric acid is supposed to work but what worked for me was to kill every ant I saw, several times a day. Some days were pretty busy but I figgured everyone that didn't make it back to the colony, didn't bring back any food. After several days of my campaign, the ants began to be smaller. I guess they were sending out younger troops. As the weeks went by, I dropped my daily kill from dozens to half a dozen. Now I hardly see one. I figure they either found a safer food source or died of hunger.
