I am not so sure it will work on woody plants without really "putting it to it". I have found that the best way it to cut the stuff down with the chainsaw and then paint the stumps with tordon as someone else has mentioned. I don't spray it on as I don't want the overspray.... just use a paint brush. The torch really works well on non-woody plants tho'! I also use it for lighting up the brush piles... excellent! You will find lots of other uses for the torch too, if you were to get one. Cal
