I got 4 of them. IMO they are good engines,they have their isuess like any other engine out there.The key is to get to know how things work. Some of The fail prone parts Like the OPS and LP wich when they fail and not replaced right away causes the inj pump to fail in succession(much like the VP44 on the 24 valve dodge cummins)among others.The PMD(pump mouted driver)is another item that can fail without notice,so carry a spare. With some modifications They can pull a decent load.I know a couple guys who pull 20.000 + lbs with them. And they are fairly cheap on fuel,17 to 23 ml/gal is not uncommon. There are plenty out there with 300 k on them. I got a 95 6.5td with 360 k on it, still original engine.I had a 89 6.2 that blew up cause a oil cooler line popped of, with over 600 k on it
