I always suspected that plugs that were in so tight you couldn't budge them were installed with the engine warm and the plugs off the shelf.They get tightened in and when the engine is cool its like they were welded. I've seen us have to break plugs , take a rosebud and heat what is left red hot and douse with the hose, then they turn out real easy, blow the cylinder out with air and install the new plug. We had a Grand National in the shop one morning and seven of eight plugs broke off when we tried to remove them.
