1973- I had hired a guy to cut my hay- he had an 8N Ford with an MF Dyna-Balance mower. When he got done, he lamented about how much money he had lost that summer, wanted to sell the tractor. Wanted $900 for both tractor and mower- he just left it, and said to call him when I had the money. Which I did. Thinking about it later, I don't think he wanted to take it home, for fear the bank would be looking for it.
Used it a couple years, sold it to a guy with a goat farm, who put a one arm loader on it and is still using it, I think. I grew up with an 8N, but just was never very impressed with them. When dad finally sold his in late '80's, he asked me if I wanted it for sentimental reasons, and I declined. I was considerably better mounted by then, and really wasn't sentimental about the old N.
