A faded Picture of my dad in spring time of 1944 at Union ILL. Mom took this with her Kodak brownie Box Camera while standing in the back of our 1932 Chev. truck. I was always told that I was standing next to her. I was 7 years old.All the farmers of that war time era had teams of horses to work the fields with. Dad had a 1930's Hart -Parr for plowing and discing with. It had steel wheels and a straight exhaust is about all I can remember about it.About 1950 he got a Oliver 77 and that is what I learned to drive tractor on.JH

Today's Featured Article - Third Brush Generators - by Chris Pratt. While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery. I have picked up and attempted to read every auto and farm electrics book with no improvement in the situation. They all seem to start with a chapter entitled "Theory of Electricity".
