To all you guys who were discussing ROPS a while back, I got a ROPS put on my David Brown 990. I had it made by Laurin in Quebec and had it put on by my Massey dealer. Because I keep the tractor in my garage I had to get the folding model which was more expensive. The only down side was the price, close to 2000 Canadian. I am a hobby farmer with a job so I can afford it and I don't think that you can put a price on safety but many of the farmers in my area do not make much money and use older tractors without ROPS. I have talked to 3 farmers who survived rollovers, all were able to jump clear. Many may think it is a waste of money but I feel better knowing that my machine is safer to operate.
