These post often reflect a personality that is consistant to the local bar and all their advanced knowledge on all subjects. In our town we call it beer smart. If they don't think like me they should be smacked around till they think like me!
Of course the others are all stupid except me and my buddies who think like me.
These posts often remind me of a visit to the ex-inlaws for a gathering. --you don't have to be the smartest, or even know the facts--just be the loudest till everyone else shuts up and understands you are smartest.
I respect everyones opinion, and seldom takes sides. But just like the playground in grade school, I'm usualy on the side of the underdog, handicaped, or less fortunate. I don't flap the bible to make me look good in the Lords eyes. Not everyone worships the same as me, and they also deserve my respect.
We have lots of bullies on this board, (usualy political) and their names aren't all tlak. Many of us make fools out of ourselves just as you suggest tlak does. The best way to start a fight is to ask for one, or answer a post in a ignorat manner.
Being nice to others doesn't start any place other than childhood. Why don't we all practice some of our better social skills, and make this board what it was supposed to be---user friendly!
Name calling usualy does however make some folks look stupid, seldom does it reflect on the person being called names. Trouble makesrs usualy have something to prove....to themselves.
As a youngster growing up, I seen lots of fights, and never a winner. I always chose to stay in the car, and protect the women. (doors locked and car in a fast motion) Besides caring for the women seemed to be much more rewarding while their boyfriends smacked each other around.
