I like your sentiment. The older I get the more I realize how much there is to learn and so little time to learn it. I'd like to recognize more grasses, wild plants, birds, and insects. A few weeks ago I found an American bittern that flew into a power line. I got to inspect it "hands on" and will never have that opportunity again. A few days later I discovered carrion beetles and learned they carry a small mite to help eat ant larva that attack the beetle larva. I try to learn something new every day. This forumn helps a lot.
