Same deal- Dad gave me a 1/2 drive SK set for Christmas when I was about 16 (I'll be 62 next month). Finally lost one socket about 10 years ago- but watched swap meets, and got an exact replacement.
Always wanted a 3/4 drive set, but didn't want Chinese junk, and unwilling to pay the price of a good set. Helped a lady with some estate problems after her husband's passing- she said she didn't have any money to pay, but how about a tour of Bob's shop? Found an old and well used 3/4 set, but Craftsman and still looked servicable, so a deal was struck.
