I actually did fall out of a barracks, going up the steps between second and third floors. Luckily, each level had a wide "roof", (hot jungle territory with screens, not glass) and I caught myself on the windowsill. Missed the handrail on the right side, went through the screen on the left side. Made the "mistake?" of going to a promotion party, where an E6 with 12 years in grade, made E7-he joined SF to make rank, and we had a reputation for being pretty rank- he invited all of our Special Forces group to celebrate with him at the club- first floor was for enlisted, second for officers- he opened up both bars for all. So we went! Very interesting comments at the formation the next morning! Like, "why is that screen missing way up there?- as if the buddies had no clue!. Luckily, it was payday, so did not have to report for the rest of the day.
