So far, we've put up 60 pints of beans, 24 pints of bread-and-butter pickles, and had beans for a few meals. I plan to pick them one more time, and then replant "Jade" just to see how they do. Tomatoes are starting to color and I picked my first cuke today, with a few more almost ready. Potatoes are dying back. I never saw a potato bug all summer. Squash are running all over. Watermellons too. Haven't seen any mellons yet, but lots of blossoms. I have a lot of mullein beside the garden so I hope the bees will do some work in the mellons. First sweetcorn patch is setting silk and a few ears forming. Patch two isn't too far behind and patch three is on track.
This is the first time I've tried onions, so I'm looking forward to a harvest. I plan to plant beets and snow peas in a week or two. Grass is especially annoying this year. Seems to just crop up, even though I mulched. Even at that, the best garden I've ever had. I'm in SW Michigan.
