Adjusting the turnbuckles behind the batteries helps a lot.
I also shimmed the linkage behind the battery with some washers to tighten up the linkage. This was for the shaft at the pivot point.
You try to get it the best you can as the fix is all new parts $$$. Got mint to work fairly well and only a very very occasional double gear. Generally when I was shifting fast. Rev to 1, 2 to 3 and 4 to 5 are never a problem - 3 to 4, 1 to 2etc and back you'll have to be careful.
