I own all of my fuel tanks: gas, diesel, and propane. That way I am not tied into any one supplier. Two of the local companies around here tried that "must pressure test before filling" scam around here a few years ago. I told both of them to show me the law or insurance requirement that required testing. Nether one could come up with the facts in writing. Just a scam for more money. One local one was charging a EPA fee of $2.50 on each fill up. I sent a copy of my bill to the state EPA. They where real interested in what this was for. He is not charging it this year. I think it is worth owning your own tank. Now if you are just buying a few hundred gallons each year. Then it is not worth the added cost of owner ship. You can"t save enough to pay for the tank. I use about ten thousand gallons of propane each year, that is heating and corn drying gas. So if I can save ten cent a gallon then that is a thousand dollars in my pocket. So it all depends if you use enough to justify the cost.
