Working on the pump doesn't correct the low pressure problem caused by leaks down stream of the pump. Either a pipe is split,pin-holed or loose. Possibly a pressure relief or divert valve is stuck open. A gross high pressure side leak back to sump is also possible. Or if the trans sump suction screen is clogged.
