I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but I was reading about the new diesel fuel we get doesn't have much lubricity anymore. Not good on injector pumps, injectors, etc.
Some suggestions were to always run an additive, like power service, stanadyne, etc. and some just mix a little bio-diesel in--they say that does it. Can't remember the year, but seems like anything prior to around 2001 build date could have this problem.
If you're low on fuel, or the fuels been sittin' awhile, that could be doin' somethin. There's finally a fuel stabilizer for diesel readily available, similar to "Stabil" for gasoline, to help keep the fuel fresher longer (than about 30 days).
Just throwin' stuff out there to take into accout.
Could be wrong about everything, had at least three or four too many concussions, (lost count) LOL--so bear with me.
