OK guys, I finally bought a round baler, not what I wanted but for the few bales I'll be making, I guess It'll do OK. Bought a New Holland 850.
I've always made square bales & never ran a round one. No, I haven't gotten an operators manual for it yet.
What should I be concerned about with it? From what I understand, the electric tie works while the pto is engaged but the pto shouldn't be used when kicking the bale out & you're supposed to back up about 20' before kicking it out. I know about the double windrows, weight, hillsides, & dangers of it, just not 100% sure about the beginning of the bale operation. Do you still have to weave back & forth when starting on a new bale, seems like that's what my neighbor used to have to do with his International of about the same vintage. Keith
