As per the article in the magazine which by the way is called Back Home march/April 2003 this mix is used to bring chicken back for the edge of death. Article goes on to say giving chicken hot pepper also help produce more eggs and keep them in better health. Also say that mix can be done with vinegar or water but does not store was well or taste as good. Dried ground hot peppers also work so stop bleeding in both humans and animals as per the article
