Don't be quite so sure about what you say about them.
I have a 1720 Ford which has a physical size just a tad smaller than the old N series tractors and it is a real workhorse.
My land has sandy soil so implements don't pull like they would in clay, but it handles a 6 foot disc at 5 mph just as deep as I wish it to go, a 68" wide roto-tiller, 6' rotary mower cutting down weeds taller than me standing on the platform, etc.
Other than hydraulic hoses on the loader the only part I had to replace was a water pump, i.e. outside of the usual tractor replacements such as tires.
No problem getting a water pump for it and I'm happy to say I was pleased with the part and service provided by Yesterdays Tractors parts dept.
Last summer I moved 60 truck loads of dirt with it without a glitch of any sort.
Call it what you wish, but a glorified lawn mower sure wouldn't do what my tractor has done for me.
