I bet my grand dad would have never thought his 100 acre farm, half of that was woods would someday be cleared off and turned into a partial of 1400 acres that someone else now leases and only 3 people farm it all.
My Dad built a house on that edge of that property in 1941, that I was born in ,( yes the Dr came to the house to deliver me)Since the death of my parents a 7 room bungalow went to an 8 room house utilizing the front porch that doubled as a fruit cellar, and air raid shelter.
It also now has a wraparound deck with sliding glass doors from the room that I slept in for 19 years. not home anymore, but still have fond memories.
Farming has progressed to the point that kids today automatically think food comes from stores.
I don't think too many could survive if you gave them seeds, and a couple acres.
