Am amazed at what I read about Teddy Roosevelt, not that one, I mean his son, Teddy Jr. But I start with Teddy, the president. His commanding officer when he and the Rough Riders stormed San Juan Hill was Gen. Leonard Wood. (Ft. Leonard Wood in Missouri). Gen Wood started a military training school for, get this, sons of very wealthy East Coast men. Teddy Jr. was one of these. Can you imagine today's priviledged kids doing that today? Teddy Jr. became a career military man after stints in business and overseas appointments, etc. Served in WWI amd won the Medal of Honor in WWII, died on the beaches at D-Day urging his men on. His father was also tremendously patriotic and brave: after being President, offered his services to the military when WWI started. Seemed an amazing story to me. Thanks for your time, I had to share.
