In '72 I'd guess they were Autolites...the Champions were NOT factory. Ford bought Autolite in 1961 and owned them until the federal government made them split Autolite off [funny, buy GM got to keep AC/Delco] in an antitrust suit, the appeals of which were denied by the Supreme Court in March of 1972. It was after this that Ford revived its dormant Motorcraft subsidiary.
But the original Autolite spark plugs were BRF-42 resistor plugs [see link below].
