He had set out a few pecan trees, that were several inches at the base. I was mowing around them, and for some reason, the tailwheel flipped, and the mower jumped and cut the best one down. I was afraid he would be mad, but he laughed and said it would not have happened with the staybars had been on.. From then on, we often joked about that incident.. He has been gone for ten years now..
