Been playing with a critter here in my little office down stairs, every once in a while ya see a little gray flash so I set a live trap.critter was too light to set it off. I kept saying I was trying to fatten it up as he took the bait within 5 min of setting trap. Last night a lone he took two different settings of a quarter square of gram cracker, and peanut butter.--so I reset it and used a kinda heavy pen to help add weight to the trigger mechanism, two min later I had my prize. What ??? Looked like a malformed mouse long nose and no tail. But he even seemed kind of friendly -not scared, just curious Found it through googling it was called a "Least Shrew" little critter is also protected by the Pa Game Commission, I did let him go --- Hope the Hawks don't see him. I have never in my 65 years seen one I thought they were southern creatures.
