I had to send it in to the shop for transmission work right in the middle of spring work about 20 years ago. I rented another 4040 from the dealer and that one had 18.4x38 radials. There weren't any front weights on the one that I rented, but I hooked on to my plow and took it out. Mine had been breaking traction plowing up hill. I'd have to get on the brake, the front end, even weighted would come up,it was a nightmare. The one with the radials and no weights would hold traction right up over the hill,so no riding the brakes,no spinouts,so no wheel stands. I was sold on radials right there.
This time of year until next summer I'll always be dealing with a mud "skin" (?) about everywhere I go. And the little escapade with the baler pushing me down the hill was because my tires started sliding.
The radials are advertised as tubeless, running a tube in them won't effect anything will it?
Thanks, Dave

As simple as a box plow appears, it can be rather challenging to make work correctly. In our sandy soils of Florida, traction is king. You can never have wide enough tires or heavy enough weights to get all the traction you want … unless you own a monster tractor. U
