My dad died when he was 42 and I was 10 on the 8th of Feb. 1974 from Brain tumor and Cancer. His dad died in Oct 1973 and so they both went very close together. My mother had a farm sale the 27th of April and it was sure sad to see all of it go, I remember the 48 JD D being drove out of the yard for 100.00. I was lucky enough that several items were sold within half mile of the farm and I have since bought back the 48 D along with the 41 Farmall M and the 65 Ford pickup. Over the years, I wonder how different life would have been if he lived till us kids were older. I was lucky to have two wonderful parents and my mom only 32 at the time never re-married so we did not have that drama to put up with. She was very good to us kids and still is to this day. I stop by her house ever morning and evening.
