Ok as you are a Captain why then with your Professional training, Why would you not be allowed to carry a gun. the same as any Guard or police officer. I wouldn't feel threatened or intimidated Knowing some one would have some type of protection on board.
Maybe even stewardesses could be nice and slip fast acting/ or permanent sleeping pills in a terrorist coffee.
How about a 007 drop away floor in cabin area to let unwanted passenger off in flight. Or realistically have some type of safety device built into plane that will put every one on board to sleep. so you can land.You guys have oxygen.
