I'm not so sure about JD for pain relief. Several years ago my back hurt so bad when I laid down that I couldn't sleep for several nights in a row. I could sleep in a chair, but only got a few hours of sleep. I decided that Jack Daniels might help me get a good night sleep. I drank a bunch in the evening. My kids still joke about their 'drunk' father. I did manage to get to sleep (of course!), but at about 2 am I woke up totally sober with the pain in my back back! Whatever was wrong did eventually correct itself.
Still, Old Roy, that foot looks awful. I hope you have a speedy recovery and am glad it was nothing more serious.
