I have to agree with you jdmaris with this I do these recalls at a Ford dealer where I work. I believe this has to be one of the stupidest recalls of all time. We have only found 5 so far that are actually cracked. These vehicles are 8-12 years old and many of the these vans I have worked on have been road hard and neglected with little to no maintenance done. The vans that come in that have been well maintained over the years are not the ones that are cracked its always the ones that haven't been cared for. We had one come in and the bearings in the steering column were out making it hard to steer with steering wheel flopping around. When we told the lady it was dangerous and she should get it fixed she acted like we were crazy. The best part was she had 3 young children in the back of the van. Vehicles wear out do to normal wear and tear and driving on salt roads vehicles rust out its normal, and if you don't wash or maintain a vehicle they wear out faster.
