I know what you are talking about.Its not just John Deere.Most auto parts places have somebody like that nowdays.It takes a long time for a parts man to be good it seems like.I just called a parts man at a truck shop the other day where I worked back in the 1980s.I asked him about a brake chamber and first he said he didnt have it.I knew better than that,but then he looked on the shelf and there it was ,and hes been there over 10 years.Some people just dont care.I guess they work cheap and they keep them. The computer has made things worse for people who werent around when there was no computer in a lot of ways. Im 55 and I remember my dad having the same trouble with getting stuff for a TO 20 Fergusen back in the early 1960s.I remember him going behind the counter and pointing out the part he needed in the parts book.Of course this was after trying to get the lazy or brain damaged parts man at Massey Fergusen to even look for it for 30 minutes first. So its not just John Deere as far as thats concerned. Try a Caterpillar place if you think John Deere is bad.
