You need 4 wires to the reversing switch or 6 wires if it will also start and stop the motor.
With the old system, did the magnetic contactor start and stop the motor, as well as reverse it?
Will you still need to use a magnetic contactor or can you go to a manual 6-wire "drum switch"?
If I have a correct mental schematic of this, you know have a special motor with 2 sets of start windings, one for each direction, and a DPDT contactor which starts and stops the motor and selects the direction. You may be able to retain the start and stop function of the present contactor and add a DPDT relay that will transpose the connections of the T8 and J10 leads.
Wire it so it is energized when the original contactor is in one position and not the other.
Another way of doing it on the cheap would be to replace the existing contactor with a pair of mechanically interlocked DPDT contactors.
You could scarf one of those from a surplus industrial-sized garage door opener.
